James Gary Lemmond

Funeral for James Gary Lemmond, 70, was Sun., April 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Somerville Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Lewis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Center Springs Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Lemmond died Wed., April 19, 2017 at his residence. He was born Feb. 27, 1947, in Morgan County to Everette Cameron Lemmond and Katherine Louise Blankenship Lemmond. James was a faithful man of God, who loved his family and church. He worked hard all of his life and was a lover of he outdoors. Spring would find James; crappie fishing, summer gardening, and doing lawn care and fall and winter, he was hunting. He loved watching sports, especially Alabama football  “Roll Tide”. His smile, laughter and personal stories will be greatly missed.

He was a pipe welder employed by the Union Local #377. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Lemmond of Somerville; two sons, Jimmy Lemmond (Tina) of Somerville and Jamie Ward (Renee) of Scottsboro; a daughter, Tammy Dozier (Jamie) of Hartselle; three brothers, Wendell Lemmond of N.D.,
Carlton Lemmond of S.C. and Marshall Lemmond of Decatur; two sisters, Janice Orme of Somerville and Carolyn Roberts of Somerville and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Shaw Lemmond, Jarrod Lucas, Parker Lemmond, Justin Dozier, Jameson Dozier and Keith Burgess.
