Danville graduate and resident James R. Bowling announced his candidacy this week for the Republican seat of Alabama State House for District 9. 

The 15-Year Member of Danville Fire Rescue with the Rank of Captain is a 1996 Graduate of Danville High School. He is the previous owner of Premier Farms, LLC. He is currently employed by Chemtrade Logistics in Decatur and responsible for the maintenance of the plant.

He has been married to Amanda (Mason) Bowling of Hartselle for 18 years. Together, they have two children. They attend Temple Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama.

“I support our Second Amendment right and will work tirelessly to ensure that the citizens of District 9 will maintain a voice in Montgomery that represents our hard working, hometown values,” Bowling said. “I will represent all of the people of the district and not just the elite few and will fight corruption at all levels. Our children are the future of this country and we must ensure that the decisions made will help our schools.”

“We need to seek the expert opinions of educators on standards and curriculum to see if it is meeting the needs of our students,” Bowling said. “ We need to make sure there are enough technical classes in the schools’ curriculum to reflect the current job market in North Alabama and this will aid in Industry recruitment. We also need fiscal reform to ensure that all tax dollars are spent wisely. Let’s make sure we are getting the most out of every dollar and stop the liberals in our government from trying to raise taxes on necessities such as fuel.”

“As a Public Servant, I know sacrifice and, after much thought and prayer, I am willing to make the necessary sacrifices to keep our Christian Conservative values representing District 9 to ‘Love God, Love People,  Serve Both’,” Bowling said.
