Community Calendar

May 4,18,23 and June 1,8

In recognition of National Stroke Month, Cullman Regional is offering FREE Stroke Prevention Screenings to the community throughout the month of May. Visits are by appointment only. Screenings will be offered on the following dates: May 4, 18, 23 and June 1 and 8. According to the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, 80 percent of strokes are preventable if you watch your risk factors including for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, diet, peripheral artery disease, cardiovascular disease and more. Cullman Regional’s screenings offer opportunities to check all of these and more. Screenings include the following for all participants at no charge: Lipid Panel (Cholesterol and Glucose for diabetes),   Body Mass Index (Diet),  EKG (Electrocardiogram) and  ABI Screening. “The goal of these screenings is to help community members identify any potential risk factors they may have in order to reduce their risk for stroke,” said Lindsey Dossey, Executive Director Marketing & Community Outreach. “We want to help our community catch potential risks and get them under control before it becomes and emergency.”

Are you worried about having a stroke? Are you over the age of 50? Do you have high cholesterol? Do you have high blood pressure? Does your family have a history of strokes? If so, call to schedule your appointment TODAY. To schedule an appointment, call (256) 735-5600.
