MCKENDREE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH HOST COMMUNITY SUPPER

The Massey Community Supper hosted by McKendree United Methodist Church was held on Fri., June 2 at 5:30 p.m. Carolyn Besnyl and Lynn Hogan prepared lasagna and others brought salads, bread, desserts and drinks. After the meal, everyone was touched by the video speaker from the Saddle Back Church who had been an alcoholic. All those attending also enjoyed the music, prayer and discussions, which completed the evening’s activities.

On Sun., June 4, the Mt. Zion Baptist Children and Youth had a pizza supper at the church at 5 p.m. They also enjoyed swimming at the Cullman Aquatic Center along with group leaders and some parents.

Christian love and heartfelt sympathy goes out this week for the family of Louie Dutton. May God bless and be with each of you during your time of sadness.

On Sun., June 11, Fairview-the Grace Place held a fundraiser lunch at 11 a.m. with lasagna and other good foods. The proceeds will be used for a Guatemala Mission trip this summer.

Corinth West Baptist Women’s group met at 10 a.m. on Sun., June 4 for breakfast and meeting. Dana Henslee served pigs in a blanket, fruit and cupcakes. Gayle Miller served juice and coffee. Jessie Emerson presided over the meeting. Dana Henslee gave the devotional on “Cupcakes of Living.” The one-day Vacation Bible School was planned for Sat., July 22, for 9 a.m. with Christie Guthrie serving as the Bible School Director. There will be Bible Study, music, crafts and recreation and food. There will also be snacks in the morning and in the afternoon with a pizza and spaghetti supper in the evening. Parents are invited for supper and the closing program. Christie Guthrie and Dana Henslee will be in charge of the food. The meeting was adjourned and the next meeting will be Sun., July 2 at 10 a.m.

Our thoughts and prayers go out this week for Ginger Bramlett and also for Bobby and Sharon Strickland.

Derrell and Beth Shelton and Brother Mike and Tammy Vest attended the North Alabama United Methodist Conference in Huntsville. There were church services and official assignments of pastors for the church year of 2017-2018. The event was held on Sun., June 4 through Tues., June 6.
