ROGER LOOSIER SHARES HIS THOUGHTS ON FATHER’S DAY

I want to thank my friend Roger Loosier, for sharing his thoughts about what “Father’s Day” means to him. This is his story: There are so many memory’s and thoughts when it comes to Father’s Day. The things I learned as a small child still helps to set the rules for my life today. As a child I learned that there are more people in the world than me and that I should respect everyone. I learned that God created one race of people and that is the human race. I learn to work when I didn’t feel like it. I learned that all of us should serve and worship God and honor the great country that we live in. Even though my dad was taken away in a car accident when I was eleven years old, the training that I received in those years have always and I suppose always will be a great strength that I rely on. The Bible is full of instructions for a Father. He should love his wife, as Christ loved the church. He is to train up a child in the ways of the Lord. He is to train his child that worship to God is a part of life and should not be overlooked. All of us want our children and the generations that follow to have the right morals and live by the standards of God’s word. There is good reason that we as fathers should raise our children as Christians and be part of the church on earth. What if our children grew up to be just like the dad that raised them? How strong would the church be when it really needs to come together for the people of the community? There are many things that the father should teach his children but being Spiritual in thoughts and life is most important. There is great reward promised in the Bible for those dads who do raise their children with the knowledge of the Lord, here is just one verse of promise, Proverbs 23:24 “The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.” It seems today that there are children (and some of them are my age) that have gone astray from the standard that Christ has set forth. Some have gotten so tied up with the things in this world that we have forgotten that the greatest blessing we can have is children setting on our knees. When we raise a wise child, the bible is not only speaking about knowing how to provide for his family and how to conduct himself in the community but he is also speaking to fathers that we should raise children that are wise in the standards of God’s word. There is another great promise in this scripture, ” we will have joy in our children.” The Fathers and Mothers also, can rejoice in their children. From the first Sunday school song or play to the wonderful work that is being done in the church today, we can have “JOY”. I hope that the Dad’s in all communities will take heed to the promises of the Word of God.
