Scott Stadthagen kicked off his campaign for State Representative this past Saturday with a campaign dinner. Approximately 160 people were in attendance and enjoyed great food and music. Bob Francis introduced the man of the hour and spoke on his behalf before Stadthagen delivered his speech.

As Stadthagen delivered his speech, he went into his background of growing up, going to college and eventually starting his business Hagen Homes. He also told the story of meeting his eventual wife Amy Peck Stadthagen, who is his partner at Hagen homes and the daughter of popular Hartselle football coach Larry Peck. Stadthagen talked about becoming more involved in his community, which included joining the Hartselle chamber of commerce and helping to build the new Hartselle Farmer’s Market. It was through this that Scott felt the need to run for State Rep. “It was through the Farmer’s Market project we just completed, that I saw the results of bringing community leaders, agencies and our local Senator Arthur Orr together and creating an opportunity to have an impact on our area,” Stadthagen said. “It is this same simple idea that calls on whomever we send to Montgomery to support the ideas and initiatives of the people of District 9.”

Stadthagen went on to state that he believes in traditional family values, less government regulations and interference while emphasizing personal freedom and responsibility. Stadthagen strongly supports the district’s educators and schools and plans, if elected, to continually meet with mayors, city administrators, county commissioners, superintendents and neighbors in the area.

He closed his speech by saying, “I am not a politician, I am a business man, a neighbor who wants to make sure our district is represented and respected in Montgomery. I’m asking for your support and vote,” Stadthagen said. “I build for a living and I’m committed to building the partnerships it takes to insure that our area has the ability to flourish today and in the future. Together we can build a great future!” Stadthagen continued. “For Amy, Collins and myself, I appreciate each and every person that took the time tonight as we begin this journey to a new day for District 9.”
