CEDAR PLAINS CHRISTIAN CHURCH HOMECOMING AUGUST 6

The Members of Cedar Plains Christian Church will be hosting their Homecoming Day activities on Sun., Aug. 6. The worship service will be at 11 a.m. with a pot luck lunch following. Their pastor is Brother Phillip Gilbert. They will also be starting a two day Revival on Sunday night Aug. 6 and Monday night Aug. 7. The visiting evangelist for Sunday night will be Nathan Thomas and the Monday night guest speaker will be Jason Henderson. The pianist will be Andrea Williamson. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Falkville High School Class of 1977 held their 40th reunion which was hosted by Curtis (Walt) Merriman and his family on Saturday night, July the 15. Everyone enjoyed the grilled hamburgers, brisket and smoked chicken, the music and singing, fireworks and visiting with classmates and the teachers who came. The teachers who came were Rhona Summerford, Coach Gunter and also Billy and Bryan.

A back to school swim for Fairview-the Grace Place students and families will be Wed., Aug. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hartselle Aquatic Center. A Guatemala Paint party was held on Tues., July 25 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. An admission charge of $35 was collected with the proceeds going to the Guatemala Mission.

Rex Bailey from Logan’s Emeus Baptist Church was the guest speaker for Corinth West Baptist Church Senior Citizen’s Day on July 18 at 11 a.m. Rex gave the devotional and his testimony about imprisonment and salvation. GayNell Wilhite presented gifts to anniversary and birthday celebrants and door prizes were also given. Hilton Kelley led the prayer for those requesting prayer. Rex Bailey asked for the blessing of the hamburgers and hotdogs that were prepared by David Shedd. Guests from the Emeus Baptist Bible study, enjoyed the meal and the four Bingo games that followed.

Wishes for feeling better soon go out this week for GayNell Wilhite, Bobby Glenn Staples and also for Reathel Heard Brown. “God Bless and Get Well Soon.”
