CORINTH WEST BAPTISTS HOST BIBLE SCHOOL ON JULY 22

The Members of Corinth West Baptist Church hosted Bible School activities on Sat., July 22. The theme for the Bible school was “Galactic Starveyors”. The Bible study, crafts, music, recreation and food were all enjoyed from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Christie Guthrie was in charge of the food for the day. There was pizza for lunch and spaghetti and salad for family night supper. Also the snack food during the day had the Space Galactic theme. Some of these foods included milky way and zero candy bars, moon pies and foil covered Easter eggs provided a “Hunt for Space Rocks” activity. Everyone enjoyed the day’s activities.

The Members of the No Fences Cowboy Church are still working on their new building at Massey. Lay Pastor, Joel Sandlin helps his wife, youth leader, Letha Sandlin. On Tuesday night the youth have an activity and on Wednesday night the Chuck Wagon team women cook for the youth, adults and children. The plates are five dollars and the money is used for a fundraiser for the building fund. There are many activities planned for the youth. Remember them in your prayers as they prepare for school to begin.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Mac Hardin for his July 24 birthday.

Letha Hopkins received a great birthday gift for her birthday, when she was dismissed from Rehab on July 28. God bless you Letha and best wishes.

Our thoughts and prayers go out this week for Scotty Parker and also for Joe Sparkman.

Good wishes go out this week to Matt and Jennifer Stringer Jackson and Harrison as they get settled in their new home.

Jayme Tyler led the praise and worship service at McKendree United Methodist Church Community supper and Celebrate Recovery on Friday night, July 28. Everyone enjoyed hotdogs, slaw, onions, pickles, relish, cheese, chips and dips, desserts and drinks before the program. Brother Mike Vest talked about the 8 purposes and led the Serenity prayer. Neal Fuller gave his testimony. Afterward, discussion groups met with Brother Mike and Tammy Vest.

Charlene Blankenship Orr of Massey attended the Morgan County High School Class of 1962, 55TH reunion on Sat., July 22. The Class met at Quail Creek Resort near Falkville for lunch and visiting. Don Logan organized the event and classmates plan to meet quarterly. The next lunch will be Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at Stonebridge Farm near Cullman.

Pine Street Baptist Church in Falkville hosted the Fifth Sunday Singspiration on July 30 at 6 p.m. Their partnership with local churches is for collecting school supplies for needy children. Mt. Zion Baptist Church Member Loraine Cost is in charge of the donated school supplies. Many churches brought their collection to the Singspiration service. Brother David Carroll presided at the event. Refreshments were served by the host church and other churchwomen who attended. The Pine Street pastor is Brother Randy Williams.
