TRIBUTE TO RACHEL HOLLADAY SLATE

I am very pleased to pay tribute this week to the greatest prayer warrior that I have ever known, Rachel Holladay Slate. Rachel recently celebrated her 87th birthday on Sat., Aug. 19. Mrs. Slate has really been blessed in her life, as she is still able to drive, and do all of the housework and cooking for herself and husband of 67 plus years, Dr. Joe Slate. Rachel has been and still is a wonderful influence in my life. She always has time to pray for those in need and she never fails to give God the praise for all of the blessings that He has given her through the years. Rachel loves to play the accordion, cook and sew and most of all she enjoys reading God’s word and praying for all of her loved ones, family and friends and all others who are in need of prayer. The Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church express Christian love and heartfelt prayers this week for the Great Commission Endeavor, Tom and Connie Campbell, Josh Ozley, Shane Boyd, Heather Howard, Pat Lacy, Jeanette Glasscock, Lillian Hancock, Paula Blackwood, Jethro Harbison, W.O.Garmany, Amy Clark, Audrey Owen, Church Van for TeamKid, Church Recovery Team, Selection Team, Linda LaRoche, Mark Roden, Helen Taylor, Tricia O’Kelley, Harper Crude, John Haynes, Shirley Bibb and Mike Segars.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Becky Smith on Aug. 28, Andrew Terry on Aug. 28, Jimmy Dobbins on Aug. 29 and happy birthday wishes also go out this week for Gabriel Norton on Aug. 31.
