WESLEY SUMMERFORD CELEBRATES FIRST BIRTHDAY

On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 19, Tom and Tina Summerford hosted a first year birthday and swim party at their home in Falkville for their grandson, Wesley Summerford. Wesley’s parents are Trey and Stephany Summerford. A small group of family and friends attended the birthday celebration.

During the month of July, Wanita, Wayne and Samuel Nisly attended the Yoder Family Reunion in Tennessee.

Donald Yoder, Jake Hofstetler and Linfried Kauffman attended several weddings during the month of July.

The Weaver Family of Massey went to Davis County for the Eli Weaver Reunion on August 4 and 5.

On the weekend of July 30, several Massey residents visited in Virginia. Wayne Nisly and family visited Steve Kauffman, in Free Union, VA. In Virginia Beach, the Nisly’s visited Sharon’s parents, Donnie and Naomi Brenneman. Linfried Kauffman also visited Steve Kauffman during the trip.

Bible study and pot-luck supper at McKendree United Methodist Church, on Wednesday night, Aug. 16, featured Mexican cornbread, ham, turnip greens, potatoes, desserts and drinks. Lynn Hogan taught the study class on “The Patriarch’s Series” by Beth Moore.

On Friday evening, Aug. 11, the Emmanuel Mennonite Church family met to clean the church and school. Each family brought snacks and drinks and enjoyed their work and fellowship.

The Family of the Late Joe Summerford and Rhona Summerford attended a Baby Blue shower in Tuscaloosa on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 20 for parents-to-be, Zack and Laura Summerford Chism. Laura’s parents are Eric and Kathy Summerford and the former Lisa Summerford. Zack’s and Laura’s baby boy is due in October.

The Emmanuel Mennonite School at Massey started their school year on Aug. 29. Their administrator will be Mose Yoder and the teachers are Floyd Brenneman, Margaret Troyer and also Rhoda Weaver.

The Nislys and Kauffmans visited Pauline Yoder in Pennsylvania at the end of July. Lowell and JoAnn Brenneman and Samuel and Arlene Nisly attended Douglas Kauffman’s and Rosemary Yutz’s wedding in Huntsville, Ark.

Christian love and heartfelt prayers go out this week for Jimmy NeSmith.

Special belated happy birthday greetings go out this week for B. B. Anders on Aug. 21, Nancy Anders on Aug. 21, Whitney Walker on Aug. 8 and also David Owens on Aug. 27.
