The Hartselle Lady Tigers got a big win over a Morgan County foe this past Monday. The Tigers defeated the Lady Hawks in three sets (25-18, 21-25 and 15-11). Hartselle handled the Hawks easily in the first set before Danville came storming back to take set two. Tensions were boiling over in the third set before Hartselle eventually took the win. The win was a good bounce back for Hartselle, who had lost to Carbon Hill 2-0 (19-25 and 11-25) earlier in the day. “They didn’t play well against Carbon Hill, it was like we were asleep,” Hartselle head coach Tanya Lybarger said. “It was good to see them play with more intensity against Danville.”
Lexie Smith finished the two matches with 10 kills and 10 digs. Abby Arias had 13 digs and Karmyn Key finished with 28 assists.
Hartselle got another area win over Columbia later in the week 3-0 (25-9, 25-12 and 25-18) and got a win over Lee-Huntsville 2-0 (25-14 and 25-15). Abby Arias had 20 digs and Karmyn Key finished with 49 assists. Hailey Holshouser finished with 18 kills while Lillyanna Cartee had 9 digs and 13 kills.
