West Morgan drops heartbreaker to Elkmont to end season
ATHENS – The West Morgan varsity boys season came to an end on Tuesday night after a heartbreaking 44-43 loss to Elkmont during the opening round of the 3A Area 15 Tournament.
The Rebels clamped down on the defensive end during the opening quarter, holding Elkmont to just three points in the first. West Morgan held a 28-17 advantage at halftime and owned a 38-31 lead at the end of three quarters, but were unable to close the Devils out down the stretch.
In his final game for the Rebels, Jauquez Chairs scored a team-high 17 points. Maurice Gray added 12 points for West Morgan.
