Life brings new season under heaven

Lauren Estes-Velez

Seasons change. In the blink of an eye, it goes from summer to fall and fall to freezing. Sports change from March Madness to the World Series to the National Championship game – Roll Tide, by the way.

Often with seasons of change come new ideas, goals and mindsets – and I’m currently in my own season of change.

So, after putting some thought into weighing my options and deciding what will be best for me and my family, I decided that one season is coming to an end.

I’ve been at the Hartselle Enquirer full time for a little over 14 months, but I have worked here doing freelance since 2013, so my ties to the paper go back. Feb. 5, however, will be my last day of work as a news writer, and I plan to further pursue a career in fitness and health.

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to take more leaps of faith, so here’s my first one of the year. I appreciate you all for reading my columns weekly and supporting your local paper. I hope you’ll continue to support the Enquirer as the staff here works to provide coverage of all of your upcoming events and highlight this awesome city!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8:

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every a purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”
