Lady Tigers push win streak to 17

Hartselle's Lady Tigers regained their No. 1 ranking and pushed their winning streak to 17 games as they got in four at the rained-shortened Vestavia Hills tournament last weekend.
Hartselle 6,
Montgomery Catholic 0:
The Lady Tigers and the Lady Knights got in five innings before rain ended the game and the tournament.
Two and one-half scoreless innings preceded a four run blast by the Lady Tigers that would have been enough for the win. However, Hartselle managed to light the scoreboard again with a pair of runs in fifth.
Jessica Lawrimore picked up her sixth win with a three-inning performance. She struck out four batters, but allowed no walks and only two hits. Jessica Lyle got the save in two innings.
Anna Corum led the Hartselle hitting with a 2-RBI double, while Lindsay McClanahan clipped a pair of base hits to drive in a pair of runs.
Ashley Jackson, Holly Kilgore, Robin Halbrooks and Regan Sandlin all singled for Hartselle and Rachel McAbee pirated one base.
Hartselle 7, John Carroll 0:
Hartselle broke a three-inning deadlock with a six-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning and capped their win with a lone run in the sixth inning.
McClanahan picked up her ninth win of the season with a complete game two-hitter.
Corum led Hartselle with a 3-RBI on a double to spark the rally. She also connected for a single. McAbee drove home two runs with a pair of singles. Lyle also connected for two base hits and drove home one run. Anna Byrd had an RBI single.
McClanahan and Sabrina Roberts both ripped singles pairs, while Jackson and Sandlin singled.
Hartselle 3, Gardendale 2:
The Gardendale Lady Rockets gave Hartselle's girls a handful, breaking the Lady Tigers' 7-game shutout streak, but falling in the end.
Hartselle scored first, but Gardendale knotted the tally in the fifth inning.
Sandlin drove in the tie-breaking run with a ground-out in the eighth inning.
The Lady Tigers added one more and then had to hold off the hard-charging Lady Rockets in the bottom of the inning.
Lyle got the pitching win in seven innings with Roberts getting the save.
Jackson, Byrd, Lyle, McAbee and Roberts all singled for Hartselle.
Hartselle 2, Hueytown 0:
Roberts pitched the Lady Tigers's seventh consecutive shutout in their opening game of the Vestavia Hills tournament.
McClanahan walked to lead off the second inning and McAbee followed with an RBI triple. McAbee went on to score Hartselle's second run on an error.
Lyle got the only other Hartselle hit with a single.
Hartselle 12, Huntsville 0:
After a scoreless first, Hartselle's Lawrimore got the scoring started when she drove in two runs with a double over the left-fielder's head.
McClanahan worked five innings for the win, pitching a one hitter.
McClanahan, McAbee and Lawrimore led the team with doubles.
Lyle singled twice, while Jackson, Byrd, Rachel Carden and Sandlin singled.
Hartselle 4, Pisgah 0:
The Lady Tigers defeated the Pisgah Lady Eagles for the third time this season, downing ace pitcher Holly Currie.
Roberts remained undefeated in 16 games, pitching a four-hitter with the help of her defense.
McAbee had an RBI base-on-balls in the first inning and a 2-RBI single in the seventh inning.
The Lady Tigers added one run in the sixth before capping the game with a pair of runs in the seventh.
Byrd and McAbee led the team with one double and one single each. Lyle added a two-bagger, while Sandlin ripped two base hits.
Jackson, Carden and Roberts were base hitters for Hartselle.
Hartselle 4, Decatur 0:
The Lady Tigers and Lady Raiders battled through three scoreless innings before Hartselle's McAbee drove in the game's first run with a double in the fourth inning.
Jessica Lyle claimed the win with a complete game performance and hit a 2-RBI double in Hartselle's fifth-inning rally.
Carden led the hitting with three base hits. Byrd followed with two, while Corum, Lawrimore and Sandlin connected for singles.
