Funeral for Bernard Astor Thomas, 74, of Trinity, was Friday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with David Barker and Mike Nix officiating.
Burial was in Thomas Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Huntsville Hospital. A native of Limestone County, he retired from Wolverine Tube after 43 years as an operator and also was a farmer and cattleman. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a former elder of Midway Church of Christ for 30 years, and a graduate of Trinity High School.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Mae Thomas of Trinity; four sons, Roger Thomas and Keith Thomas, both of Trinity, Jimmy Thomas of Moulton and Tim Thomas of Hartselle; one daughter, Debbie Thomas Adkins of Trinity; two brothers, Cecil Thomas and Lifford Thomas, both of Trinity; two sisters, Wilma Eady and Frances Ogles, both of Trinity; one half-sister, Ruby Rhodes of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Matthew Thomas, Caleb Thomas, Josh Suggs, Jason Cartee, Lynn Hill and Ronald Hill.
