While at Hartselle, Tillman set school records for career and season strikeouts (293 and 143) and set the standard for strikeouts per seven innings pitched with a 4.70 mark. She also set a record for most saves in a season with eight in her junior year.
The UAH freshman stepped up to the next level and promptly earned Gulf South Conference honors this spring as East Division Freshman Player of the Year. She also was named to the Gulf South All-Conference All-Star first team and made the All-Regional team to boot.
Tillman signed on to play first base for the Lady Chargers, but when UAH starting pitcher Erica Miller suffered an injury, Lady Chargers Coach Les Stuedeman took a chance on Tillman on the mound.
By the end of the season, she had worked her way into the pitching rotation for the Lady Chargers. She finished the season with a 5-2 record and a 3.42 ERA.
Tillman also paced the team at the plate with a batting average of .425. Her average ranked third in the GSC, where she also finished third for number of hits (74) and RBI 36.
