Commission, sheriff races set for November

Incumbent Norma Faye Sparkman and John Glasscock will meet in November's general election to see who will represent County Commission District Two. Both candidates won their primary runoffs Tuesday night.
Sparkman defeated Ray Long in Tuesday's Democratic primary. Sparkman received 2,972 votes to Long's 2,639.
Glasscock received 2,254 votes. His opponent in the Republican primary, James Ray Bowling, received 1,843.
Sparkman and Glasscock will face each other in the Nov. 5 general election.
In the race for Morgan County Sheriff, James Hudson defeated Ron Livingston to earn the Republican nomination. Hudson received 2,755 votes to Livingston's 2,107. Hudson now faces Greg Bartlett, who won the Democratic nomination earlier this month.

November's general election will be highlighted by the race for governor, which pits Democratic incumbent Don Siegelman against Republican challenger and U.S. Representative Bob Riley and the race for lieutenant governor, with Democratic candidate and current State Treasurer Lucy Baxley facing Republican challenger and State Senator Bill Armistead.
