White Sox defeat Reds to knot 9-10 race

The White Sox took aim at the Reds and loosened their hold on the top of the standings in 9-10 league play.
The White Sox took two innings to get their offense firing. They plated four runs in the third and added the balance in the next two innings. The Tigers never got their offense working against the White Sox.
Seth Wiley grabbed the pitching win in a complete game for the Sox, while Ben Teichmiller took the loss for the Tigers.

The Indians opened up a tight game with a six-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning and never let the Bulls back into it.
Corey Holloday was the winning pitcher for the Indians in four innings of work. Michael McMurray got the save.
Jake Hartsell took the loss for the Bulls. He struck out 11, but gave up 11 runs on five hits and six walks.

The Giants and the Blue Jays swatted at each other through four innings, but the victory was wrought when the Giants built a three-run advantage and then snuffed a late Blue Jay rally two runs short of forcing extra innings.
Ethan Rose worked the complete game for the Giants and the win. Chase Fowler took the loss for the Blue Jays despite striking out 10 batters. He allowed 10 runs on 10 hits and three walks.

The Braves took an early lead over the league leaders, but the Reds grabbed the lead with a seven-run rally in the bottom of the third.
The Braves answered with a six-run salvo in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 9-9, but the Reds secured the win with a lone run in the bottom of the inning.
Jake Kimbrell got the win for the Red in two innings of relief for Torin Dupper. Will Lang and Sam Fleishman were the pitchers for the Braves.
