Wallace State planning open house Aug. 18

Wallace State College will be hosting an open house on its campus in Hanceville on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 1-4 p.m.
This open house is a community event that will include opportunities for visitors to meet instructors and learn more about classes and programs of study offered at Wallace State. Activities for all members of the family are planned, including an air show, horse exhibition, art show and health screenings, as well as a moonwalk and other games and activities for children. Free popcorn, drinks and entertainment will be provided.
The Bailey Center will be the main focus of open house activities where the Admissions and Financial Aid offices will be open to help students with registration. Campus tours will depart from the Bailey Center at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The WSC bookstore will be open from 1-4 p.m.
Early registration for fall semester classes at Wallace State is under way. Regular registration runs through Aug. 23. Classes begin Aug. 19. For more information visit the college's web site at www.wallacestatehanceville.edu.
Also, the Wallace State Alumni Association will recognize the first two Wallace State Alumni Association scholarship recipients following Wallace State's open house at an alumni reception on the 12th floor of the Bailey Center on Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. The new Alumni Associations officers for the year will also be presented at the reception.
The WSC Alumni Association will hold its annual membership drive during open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. One member will be chosen to win a Gulf Shores vacation compliments of Midnight Properties, L.L.C.
Membership is open to current and former WSC students, graduates, faculty and staff, spouses, and friends of the college.
Activities for all members of the family are planned, including a play area for children. Free popcorn, drinks and entertainment will be provided. Students may register for classes and visit the bookstore during open house.
