Eva honors top readers

The Eva Public Library had a successful 2002 Summer Reading Program.
A variety of interesting programs took place each Monday from June 3 to July 29.
Of the 65 children registered for the program, the average attendance was 56. Over 1,600 books were read.
In the kindergarten-third grade division, Emily Oden won first place and received a $50 savings bond from the Friends of the Eva Public Library. Second place winner was Hannah McNutt who also received a $50 savings bond.
There was a three-way-tie for third place between Danielle Dunn, Curtis Bowen and Shelby Dooley. They each received prizes donated by the Friends.
In grades fourth-seventh, Lydia Cain won first place and received a $50 savings bond donated by EvaBank. Second place winner was Rachel Seaton and third place winner was Bree Watkins. They each received prizes donated by the Friends.
Everyone who read at least 50 books received coupons for free pizza from the Downtown Pizza and Subs and a free drink from Eva Exxon.
Everyone received free McDonald's coupons, a coloring book and stickers.
