United Way hosts candlelight garden tour

Hartselle residents are invited to venture to Lawrence County this weekend to enjoy a special garden tour.
The Lawrence County United Way will host its first "Moulton Candlelight Garden Tour" Saturday, Sept. 21 beginning at 6:30 p.m. and ending with a garden party at 9 p.m.
The tour will begin at Moulton City Park on the west side of the square and continue on to nine homes and gardens in the Moulton area.
Featured gardens in this year's tour are at the homes of Buddy and Joan Lang, Sandy and Paula Gillespie, David and Jill Elliott, John and Diane Winans, Dwight and Dorothy Carroll and Scarlotte Carroll, Jim and Tammy Roberts, Doyle and Clara Mae Carson, and Danny and Loretta Gillespie.
Each garden has been carefully sculptured and manicured by its owners to provide garden tourists with an unforgettable visual journey under the stars.
Refreshments and entertainment by Hartselle singer Chelsea Hale will be provided at the tour's finale garden party.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at John's Barbeque, CBS Bank, Citizens Bank, the Lawrence County Co-op in Moulton and Cheryl's Barber Shop in Hartselle for $15. Tickets purchased at the event will be $20.
All ticket proceeds will benefit the 24 community agencies funded by the Lawrence County United Way such as HOSPICE of Moulton, the Lawrence County ARC, Grace Child Development Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Hillsboro and Safe Place.
