Nov. 27
The Huntsville Museum of Art will offer a free video presentation and art activity Nov. 27 fromo 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the museum's Great Hall.
Children and their parents are invited to watch the animated video "The Bear," based on the popular children's book by Raymond Briggs. Following the video presentation, each participant will be able to create their own wintry polar bear collage artwork using a variety of art papers, glue and markers.
Space is limisted and this event is recommended for children ages 5 and older. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For reservations, call 535-4350, ext. 200.
Dec. 4-23
The Trees of Christmas and Elegant Entries will be showing at the Tennessee Valley Art Center in Tuscumbia Dec. 4-23.
This annual event features nine live Christmas trees decorated by different individuals and groups.
Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students.
Dec. 7
The annual Wheeler Lake Parade of Lights will be held Dec. 7 starting at 6 p.m. at Joe Wheeler State Park in Rogersville.
Dec. 8
"A Plantation Christmas" will be offered at Belle Mont Mansion in Tuscumbia on Dec. 8 from 1-5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6-12.
Dec. 14
First United Methodist Church in Huntsville will host a Luminary Light Celebration Dec. 14 from 4-6 p.m. The event is free to the public.
The church is located on the corner of Green and Randolph Streets. For more information, call 59-578.
Spirit of Christmas Past" homes tour Dec. 14 from 5-9 p.m.
Advance home tour tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at Brooks and Collier on Meridian Street, Marie Imports, High Grove Garden Furnishings, The Weeden House Museum and West Station Antiques.
Decatur's Christmas Tour of Homes will be held Dec. 14 from 4-9 p.m. The day will features several homes in Alabama's largest Victorian-era historic district decorated with luminaries, greenery and holiday decorations.
Dec. 15
Christmas Open House at Ivy Green, the home of Alabama native Helen Keller, is set for Dec. 15 from 1-5 p.m.
The house will be decorated by the Helen Keller Club. Admission is free.
