Public housing complexes in Hartselle have been deemed among the best in the state.
The Hartselle Housing Authority (HHA) was recently notified by the Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) that it has obtained a perfect score of 30 in both physical and management categories and a 29 in the financial category for the 2002 fiscal year.
"Your contributions and accomplishments in the Hartselle community through recent renovations and improvements to the public housing community, not to mention the dramatic environmental contributions to the community, are certainly evident in these high PHAS scores," Birmingham Hub Office of Public Housing Director Mack R. Heaton said.
Randy Garrison, Samie Wiley, and Earl Warren of the HHA Board of Commissioners said they are very proud of the job HHA employees have done in setting a precedent for other housing authorities throughout the state.
"The Hartselle Housing Authority makes wonderful use of funds, smart decisions in family placement, and excellent upkeep of the facilities," Garrison said. "Hartselle is truly a shining example of what public housing can and should be."
To commend the HHA for its outstanding achievement, the HHA Board of Commissioners presented each employee with a cash bonus.
