John Peter Gottler Sr.

Mass of Christian burial for John Peter Gottler Sr. was Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Elberta with Father Howard Moussier officiating. Deacon Kenny Kaiser delivered the eulogy.
Burial was at Prince of Peace Cemetery in Elberta with Bayview Funeral Home of Foley directing.
Mr. Gottler died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 in Elberta. He served as postmaster in Elberta for more than 27 years. He was a life member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the widower of Thelma Gottler.
He is survived by one daughter, Betty Gottler of Hartselle; two sons, Johnny Gottler and Jim Gottler, both of Elberta; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were George Schaff, John Schaff, Geoffrey Schaff, Andrew Schaff, Tommy Kenzie and Mack Eckman.
