Funeral for Robert L. Borden of Decatur was Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. at Oak Park Church of God with the Revs. Carl Maynard, Donald Smith and Jeffrey Borden officiating.
Burial was in New Center Cemetery with Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Borden died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Morgan County, he was a member of Oak Park Church of God, was a World II veteran and was a retired pipefitter. He was the father of the late Rita Faye Segler.
He is survived by his wife, Arthenia Morgan; one son, Gene Borden of Eva; three daughters, Shelia Duffell of Honoraville, Vicki Smith of Decatur and Sandra S. Borden of Hartselle; two stepdaughters, Marcella Vann of Priceville and Sadonna Morris of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Silas E. Borden of Huntsville and Joe Wiley Borden of Decatur; two sisters, Martha Odom of Durant, Okla. and Ann Wilson of San Diego, Calif., 20 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were V. E. Kirby, Malcolm Mason, James Moreno, Mark Vann, Richard Thomas and Don George.
