Funeral for Raymond Elmo Atkins, 76, of Hanceville was Friday, March 21, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Leon Mauldin and Brian Hawkins officiating.
Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Atkins died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his residence. A native of Morgan County, he was a self-employed floor covering installer and a former employee of Gougler Machine in Ravenna, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Hanceville Church of Christ and a former member of Westview Church of Christ in Hartselle.
He is survived by his wife, Luella Atkins of Hanceville; one son, Paul Thomas Atkins of Cullman; two daughters, Shirley Arnett of Cullman and Kelly Harris of Decatur; one brother, Max Atkins of Cullman; one sister, Nell Brown of Falkville; four grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Paul Atkins, Bill Harris, Todd Floyd, Steve Arnett, David Ortiz and Bobby Joe Atkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Denver Mason, Robert Jones, Bill Ryan, Jim Ballard and Paul Weinman.
