Funeral for Eva Lorene Thompson, 83, of Hartselle was Monday, April 7, at Roundtop Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Chris Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died Friday, April 4, 2003, in Huntsville. She was born Feb. 27, 1920, in Winston County to David Hill and Emma Sellers Hill. She was employed as a lunchroom worker at Falkville High School and a longtime member of Roundtop Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmie N. Derrick of Somerville and Jerry Derrick of Pecan Gap, Tex.; two daughters, Margaret A. Johnson of Austin, Tex. and Doris J. Ridgeway of Decatur; one sister, Beulah Brown of Double Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Cody Derrick, Dax Derrick, Brett Derrick, Lynn Ridgeway, Cory Derrick and Jeff Sandridge.
