Conner serving in Afghanistan
Staff Sgt. Michael Ray Conner, stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., is currently serving in Afghanistan. He is the husband of Leslie Sharp Conner, formerly of Hartselle, and the father of Sidney and Jackson Conner. He is the son of Kenneth and Gail Conner of Hartselle. He is the brother of Sandra Owens and Angela Curtis, both of Hartselle. He is the grandson of Ruth Garner of Hartselle.
Shedd completes basic training
Navy Seaman Recruit Shannon D. Shedd, a 2000 graduate of Danville High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Command in Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Shedd completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, fire fighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
