Funeral for Samuel Henry Lowery, 84, of Danville was Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m. at Speake Christian Fellowship Church with the Revs. Francis Proctor and Richard Riley officiating.
Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Lowery died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 9, 1919, in Lawrence County to Lawrence Mack Lowery and Dessie Lee Lowery. He was a member of Speake Christian Fellowship Church, a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Monsanto Chemical Co. after 28 years of service. He was the widower of Wilma Hill Lowery and one son, Bro. Bobby Wayne Lowery.
He is survived by two sons, Dr. Ricky Michael Lowery and David Henry Lowery, both of Decatur; two daughters, Virginia Lowery Terry of Hartselle and Deborah Lowery Hornbuckle of Speake; three sisters, Geneva Elrod of Athens and Myrtie Stover and Lavern Key, both of Danville; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Edward Hill, Johnny Hill, Mike Reeves, Jeff Sparks, Paul Crowe and Tracy Hill.
