A Hartselle property owner won't get a waiver for a rezoning application fee.
Jim Norman, who owns property on both sides of Main Street east of CSX Railroad's property, requested the waiver of a $150 rezoning application fee, plus the cost of any legal advertising.
Norman is seeking to have his property removed from the Downtown Central Business District. Norman said the restrictions of being in the CBD are limiting what he can do with his property.
Hartselle City Council denied the request, however, saying they couldn't waive the fee for any single person,
"If we make it where they (applicants) don't have to pay $150, we have to do the same thing for the next person who comes along and we can't do that," Councilman Dick Carter said.
