Funeral for Hugh S. Battles, 75 of Hartselle was Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Battles died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003. He was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Morgan County to Gordon Harrison Battles and Clara May Morris Battles. He was a member of the Hartselle Church of Christ. He was retired from Mutual Savings Life Ins. as a salesman. Mr. Battles was a veteran of the Korean War in the United States Army and worked as a decoder in the Pentagon.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Taylor Battles of Hartselle; one son, Gordon Jackson Battles and wife, Heather, of Hartselle; one sister, Peggy Bowers of Hartselle; and one granddaughter, Bailey McKenzie Battles.
Pallbearers were Tommy Barkley, Michael Broadhead, Jack Allen, Charles Nolen, Steve Grammer and Barry Schoenbaum.
