Funeral for Calvin V. Houser Sr., 70, of Somerville was Friday, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating.
There was a military graveside service in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Houser died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at his residence. He was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Morgan County to Joe Sire Houser and Lela Ollie Owens Houser. He was a Methodist. Mr. Houser was retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, where he served from Oct. 1951 until Feb. 1972. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He also worked as a chemical operator at Amoco. He was the grandfather of the late Joni Kyker.
He is survived by his wife, Faye H. Houser of Somerville; two sons, Calvin V. Houser Jr. of Somerville and James K. Houser of Moulton; two daughters, Rita F. Kyker and Donna K. Wright, both of Somerville; three brothers, Doyle E. Houser and Lawrence E. Houser, both of Somerville, and Jefferson D. Houser of Guntersville; four sisters, Yvonne Cook, Betty Houser and Lorene Glover, all of Somerville, and Marvelene Fowler of Eaton, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steven Houser, John David Kyker, T. J. Henderson, Mike Henderson, Jason Estes and Ronnie Dugger.
