Rufus "Buddy" Summerford

A graveside service for Rufus "Buddy" Summerford, 86, of Falkville was Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. at Falkville City Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Weldon and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Summerford died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 21, 1916, to Rufus A. Summerford and Susie Sandlin Summerford. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Falkville. He was the brother of the late Robert O. Summerford, Susie Elliott and Margaret Newman.
He is survived by one son, Stanley A. Summerford of Tuscaloosa; one daughter Nancy S. Moore of Birmingham; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Tom Summerford, Hank Summerford, Eric Summerford, Mathew Summerford, Robert Summerford and Ricky Whittington.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
