Conover, George exchange vows
Michelle Malia Conover and Gregory Lamar George, both of Hartselle, were wed in an ocean side ceremony Oct. 25, 2003, at 2 p.m., in Orange Beach, with the Rev. Jimmy Legg officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Ann Tucker of Hartselle.
The groom is the son of Lamar and Freda George of Danville.
The bride was escorted down the pier by her son, Wesley Conover, and her father.
She wore a designer gown of ivory crepe. The spaghetti strap design featured an empire waistline adorned with bugle beads cascading to the floor. Her bouquet featured bird of paradise and tropical greenery.
The ceremony was witnesses by Mallory George, daughter of the groom, and Wesley Conover, son of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Palms. Kathi Jenkins, Nancy Howard, Jana Tucker, Betty Gottler, Diane Legg, Freda George and Ann Tucker assisted with the reception.
The couple will reside in Hartselle.
A post-nuptial party is planned for Nov. 15 at the home of Joe and Ann Tucker.
Hopkins, Abercrombie wed
Teresa Jan Hopkins of Massey and Alan Keith Abercrombie of Hartselle were married Aug. 23, 2003, at 5 p.m., at McKendree United Methodist Church with Dr. David Parker officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Dutton of Danville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Abercrombie of Hartselle.
The church and altar featured columns entwined with clear lights and white floating tulle. Two large arrangements of fresh flowers consisting mostly of red roses sat atop two smaller columns. Greenery and white candles lined each window.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Barry Keith Dutton.
She wore a formal gown of candlelight Italian silk. The sleeveless gown featured a sweetheart neckline and the fitted bodice had a silk overlay of white ivory lace accentuating the solid lace back. A row of silk covered buttons extended down the back of the cathedral length train and silk rosettes adorned the back waistline. Her fingertip veil was attached to an ivory caplet of silk rosettes accented by baby pearls.
She carried a bouquet featuring three dozen red roses tied with white ribbons.
Jennifer Laurel Dutton, niece of the bride, was the bride's attendant. She wore a long pale blue sleeveless satin column gown and carried a bouquet featuring one dozen red roses and baby's breath tied with white ribbons.
Ron Abercrombie, brother of the groom, was best man.
Music was provided by pianist Tina Summerford of Falkville, sound technician Tim Laney of Massey, and vocalist Amanda Schrimsher of Hartselle.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
The bride's table featured a three-tier cake surrounded by four satellite cakes, all of white frosting and red roses, as well as a buffet and punch fountain.
The groom's table featured a two-layer chocolate cake accented with fresh fruit.
Pam Owens of Falkville, Jane Knight of Hartselle, and Judy Steel of Danville, all cousins of the bride, assisted with the reception. The wedding was directed, catered and decorated by The Classy Lady Boutique of Cullman.
Jenifer Olivia Abercrombie, niece of the groom, attended the bride's book.
The couple will reside in Massey.
A rehearsal dinner was held Aug. 22 at McKendree United Methodist Church hosted by Anne Ennis of Birmingham, sister of the groom, Pam Abercrombie, sister-in-law of groom, and Earline Abercrombie, mother of the groom, both of Hartselle.

Kirkland, Goodwin wed
Christine Kirkland of Hartselle and Farrell Goodwin of Courtland were married Oct. 20, 2003, at Hartselle Wedding Chapel with Minister Bill Partridge officiating.
The chapel was decorated with white magnolias and lace.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Tom Kerr Sr.
She chose a cream colored floor length dress accented with rhinestones and embroidered roses featuring a sheer shawl to drape the shoulders. Her bouquet featured white and cream roses and carnations with greenery and lace ribbon.
Vicky Kerr of Hartselle, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.
Brittany Kerr and Samantha Bean were bridesmaids.
Michaela Kerr was flower girl. Jacob Kerr was ring bearer.
The bride's attendants wore black, white and pink.
Billy Dale Goodwin of Atlanta, Ga., brother of the groom, was best man.
Kenny Kirkland Jr. and Jeffrey Kirkland were groomsmen.
Music was provided by best man and brother of the groom, Billy Dale Goodwin of Christian group Newsong.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Red House Grill.
The bride's table featured a three-layered cascade cake with white, pink and purple roses.
Michaela Kerr handed out bubbles. The couple honeymooned in Tunica, Miss. They will reside in Somerville.
