William 'Ed' Griffith

Funeral for William "Ed" Griffith, 78, of Hartselle was Saturday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at Pattillo Street Church of God with the Revs. Tim Herron and Brian Hancock officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Griffith died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at his daughter's residence. He was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Tennessee to John Alton Griffith and Mary Elizabeth Williams Griffith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Pattillo Street Church of God in Hartselle. Mr. Griffith was the father of the late Larry Griffith and the brother to the late Catherine Hodges, Ruth Bennett and Mildred Wilborn.
He is survived by his wife, Gracie Johnson Griffith of Hartselle; two sons, Kevin Griffith and his children, Bobbie Lee and Clinton of Hartselle, and Jerry Griffith and his wife, Lorna of Gadsden; three daughters, Rita Lamar and her husband, Doyle of Athens, Sharon Prince and her husband, Rodney of Rogersville, and Jeannie South and her husband, Freddie of Hartselle; two brothers, John Griffith Jr. and Charlie Griffith, both of Hartselle; and four sisters, Geneva Griffith of Hartselle, Jessie Hill of Falkville, and Louise Waddell and Dorothy Partain, both of Hartselle; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Wright, Donnie Teeples, Jimmy Robbins, Billy Hancock, Bud Cole and Bobby Robbins.
