It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Hartselle as families decorate their homes and open their doors to a new holiday event.
Hartselle's 2003 Christmas Tour of Homes will be held Sunday, Dec. 14, 2-4 p.m. featuring homes in Booth Meadows and Hickory Heights subdivisions.
The event, co-sponsored by the Hartselle Beautification Association and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, is $5 per ticket. Proceeds will benefit citywide projects sponsored throughout the year by both organizations.
Participating homes in Booth Meadows and Hickory Heights will be marked with balloons.
Tickets are currently available at Hartselle City Hall, Hartselle Beautification Association and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, or at featured homes on the day of the event.
"We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the beautifully decorated homes in our city that have been graciously opened to the community for the holidays," Chamber President Susan Hines said. "It should be a nice time for all to have a fun outing on a chilly winter day, get holiday decorating ideas, and enjoy Christmas music, lights, and maybe even some refreshments inside these warm and lovely homes."
HBA and the Chamber plan to make the Christmas Tour of Homes an annual Hartselle event with next year's tour featuring both new and historic homes across all areas of the city.
