Funeral for Carter Russell Hardy, 78, of Somerville, was Sunday, December 7, at 2 p.m. at Valhermoso First Christian Church with the Rev. Bob Stegall officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Hardy died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Hardy was born July 11, 1925, in Morgan County to Otis Hardy and Laura Payton Hardy. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Army. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Valhermoso Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Chunn Hardy, three sons, Steven Carter Hardy of Madison, Michael Keith Hardy of Jackson, Miss. and Philip Jeffery Hardy of Lexington, Tenn.; one sister, Sylvia Harbin of Mich.; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Scott, Dixon Chunn, Boyd Brown, Pat Matkin, Russell Chunn and Billy Oakes.
