Winnie Fay Roberts Burns

Funeral for Winnie Burns, 70, of Hartselle, was Saturday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Burns died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at her residence. She was born May 9, 1933, in Morgan County to Roy Petway Roberts Sr. and Mildred Avis Blevins Roberts. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Morgan County High School and earned a B.A. in elementary education at Berea College in Berea, Ky. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hartselle. Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her brother, James M. Roberts.
She is survived by her husband, George Leon Burns; two sons, Dr. Norman Burns of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Glenn Burns of Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Melinda Hayner of Hartselle and Karen Richie of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Roy P. Roberts Jr. of Madison; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randall Roberts, Kenneth Roberts, Carlton Fowler, Thomas Fowler, Gerrald Couey and Larry Long.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle.
