Hartselle baseball coach William Booth will be inducted in the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame this Saturday night, Jan. 10.
Booth has led the Tiger baseball program to six state championships since 1990. His has a 549-159 record in 16 seasons of coaching. His son, Mason, a former Tiger player, will introduce Booth during the ceremony.
"They usually induct a coach after he retires, so I was surprised when I was told about this a month ago," Booth said. "It's a thrill but I think seeing my former players do well in college or pro ball is more gratifying."
The induction will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham. Tickets for the awards dinner are $30 per plate. For more information call 334-272-9292 or 334-285-7956.
