Funeral for Ruth Yates Staples, 85, of Falkville was Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Reeves officiating.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Staples died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born July 9, 1918, in Morgan County to George Frank Yates and Jessie Augusta Summerford Yates. She was the widow of Otes E. Staples.
She is survived by one son, Bobby G. Staples and wife Peggy of Herndon, Va.; and three sisters, Gracie Penn, Luvina Shoemaker and Fay McLamb, all of Falkville.
Pallbearers were Charles Quattlebaum, Roy Watts, Ronald Asherbranner, Phillip Asherbranner, Billy Tillman and Arthur Summerford.
