A graveside service for Atha U. Lambert, 84, of Hopewell, Va., formerly of Decatur, was held Friday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. in Hopewell, Va., with J.T. Morris &Son Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Lambert died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at John Randolph Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lambert.
She is survived by two sons, Walter C. Vassar Jr. of Hartselle and Charles Lambert of Hopewell, Va.; a daughter, Sue Hundley of Hopewell, Va.; two sisters, Odessa Creel Oliver of Decatur and Lahoma Culver of Falkville; 10 grandchildren, including Linda Vassar of Hartselle, Joey Vassar of Somerville and Cheri Evans of Hartselle; and 27 great grandchildren.
