Wow! 2003 was a busy year! Together with your membership investments, sponsorships, and volunteer efforts we successfully promoted our town.
We appeared several times on the Suzie Show promoting shopping in Hartselle and the Depot Days Festival activities, we appeared on Channel 31, 48 and 19, increased our Christmas Open House and Shop Hartselle for the Holidays coverage by having commercials on the three network stations and in four newspapers, entertained a number of tour groups for shopping and dining excursions and had more opportunities to promote our town than ever before, we formed the Hartselle Development Board, had a successful Mardi Gras style Annual Meeting at Sparkman Civic Center, took a Federal Legislative
trip to Washington, DC, began the first Music in the Park series which ran successfully through September, participated in the "Speaking on Women's Health" program at Wal-Mart, added a full fledged concert to the Depot Days line-up which included a grammy nominated group, an artist with a number one on the music charts and a new artist, had the 1st FAM (familiarization) Tour to promote Racks &Tracks, the combination of Depot Days Festival and World Racking Horse Celebration – these tours bring in travel agents to see what you have in your area, began the revitalization of the Ambassadors program, Christmas Open House and Taste of Hartselle, City Appreciation luncheon, Christmas Tour of Homes and a Christmas Walk.
2004 promises to be an exciting year with some great changes in store for all. We are working on the 2004 Federal Legislative Agenda, a revitalized Ambassadors program, a new spring event, new Black History month display, new Youth Art month display, we are attending a number of conferences and travel shows to promote, sell and educate others on what the Hartselle area has to offer them, their business or industry, new seminars on timely subjects, and a new date for the Depot Days Festival – October 3-9.
