Funeral for Thomas Kyle Chenault, 82, of Danville was Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Turner officiating.
A military graveside service was held in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Chenault died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Lawrence County to Thomas Jefferson Chenault and Gertrude Stephenson Chenault. He was a farmer. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II. He was a Baptist and was a member of the Lawrence County American Legion and Disabled Veterans. Mr. Chenault enjoyed farming, gardening and taking care of his cattle. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Emmett Ray Chenault and Connie Chenault.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois Key Chenault of Danville; two daughters, Kylene Chenault of Danville and Shelba Jean Sims of Hartselle; two brothers, Ruel Chenault of Danville and Howard Chenault of Decatur; three sisters, Mabel Johnson of Decatur, Niecie Teague of Hartselle and Christine Smith of Cullman; two grandsons, David Sims and Dewayne Sims, both of Decatur; and five great grandchildren, Justin Sims and Tiffany Sims, both of Hartselle, Emily Sims and Joshua Sims, both of Decatur, and Shay Stover of Decatur.
