Funeral for Cora Lee Holmes, 90, of Falkville was Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at Falkville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lovelace officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Holmes died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation. She was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Falkville to Fred L. Akins and Rosella Robertson Akins. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Falkville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George H. Holmes; one son, Charles Lee Holmes; one grandson, Randy Holmes; one great grandson, Aaron Holmes; and two sisters, Beatrice Akins and Sarah Crow.
She is survived by four sons, David E. "Gene" Holmes of Falkville, the Rev. Paul W. "Buddy" Holmes of Hartselle, Freddie Roy Holmes Sr. of Houston and George W. "Joe" Holmes of Decatur; one daughter, Patricia A. "Patsy" Coots of Cullman; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
