Funeral for Emmett Ferrell Proctor, 82, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
A graveside service with military honors was at Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Proctor died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at his residence. He was born Aug. 28, 1921, in Morgan County to Emmett Lester Proctor and Mattie May Vest Proctor. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle where he was a former member of the Men's Bible class. Mr. Proctor was retired as a pilot in the United States Army, the Military Association and TVA. He was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Proctor and Howard Proctor; and one sister, Mildred Blackwood.
He is survived by his wife, Venita Proctor of Hartselle; two daughters, Katherine Proctor Stephenson of Florence and Marjory Freeborn Bood of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Dee Proctor of Hartselle; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were members of the military.
