Richburg, Greenhill to wed
Paul and Becky Wallace of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Wallace Richburg, to Jason Donald Greenhill, son of Donald and Brenda Greenhill of Decatur.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Hartselle High School and attended Auburn University. She is the owner of amanda Studio K. She is a member of the Professional Photographers of Mississippi and Alabama. She is the granddaughter of Leila Dare Wallace and the late Shirley Wallace of Hartselle and the late Mr. and Mrs. L. Arthur Owen of Decatur.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Austin High School. He is employed by UPS. He is the grandson of Rachel Ergle and the late Edgar Ergle and the late Artis and Ludie Greenhill.
The wedding will be held March 28 in Hartselle.
Rakestraw, Lovelace exchange vows
Amy Susanne Rakestraw of Hartselle and Barnes Flournoy Lovelace Jr. of Decatur were wed Dec. 20, 2003, at 2 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Nunnelee, uncle of the bride, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Reese of Hartselle of Mr. and Mrs. Benny Rakestraw of Decatur. The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Barnes F. Lovelace Sr.
The church was decorated with ferns and cedar trees, white poinsettias and Christmas packages wrapped in silver and topped with white bows. The altar was adorned with candles lit in memory of the groom's parents.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of confetti roses in the center with Vendella and Eskimo roses enhanced with a bow of cream sheer Midori ribbon. She chose a formal gown of white silk chiffon designed in the mock two-piece styling. It featured a scooped neckline and spaghetti straps with direct hand beading in a delicate floral and leaf design that embellished the fitted bodice. The soft skirt flowed to a chapel train.
Alyson Rakestraw Busch of Murfreesboro, Tenn., sister of the bride, was the matron of honor.
Barnes Flournoy Lovelace III of Auburn and Wiley Harris Lovelace of Decatur, sons of the groom, were the best men.
Yancey Edwin Lovelace of Brewton and Winton Houston Blount Lovelace of Decatur, brothers of the groom, were ushers.
Music was provided by soloist Bart Busch of Murfreesboro, Tenn., brother-in-law of the bride, pianist Connie Benson of Hartselle and trumpeter Dan Havely of Athens.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the church.
Joyce Blackmon and Mrs. Dean Couch were wedding directors.
Catherine Counts Bolding of Decatur and Catherine McKenzie Burton of Bronxville, N.Y., niece of the groom, attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Destin, Fla., and Rome and Florence, Italy. They will reside in Decatur.
A rehearsal party was held Dec. 19 at Decatur Country Club.
