Funeral for Clara Ferguson Swinford, 87, of New Albany, Ind., formerly of Decatur, was Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Shrader's Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany with the Rev. Jerry Kenny officiating.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Swinford died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was born June 18, 1916, in Morgan County to Edward and Florence King Ferguson. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Swinford; two brothers Cecil Ferguson and Raymond Ferguson; and one sister, Lorene Ferguson Thompson.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Hiemer and her husband Charles; one son, Cledith W. Swinford and wife, Reba Vest of Hartselle; four grandchildren, Anna Hiemer Loyd, Debbie Hiemer Duggan, both of Louisville, Ky., Edward Hiemer of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Valerie Swinford Clark of Madison; and 13 great grandchildren.
