Chamber wraps up busy week

Susan Hines, Chamber Chatter
We have just completed a very busy week of activities at the Chamber. The week began on Tuesday, March 9 when we co-hosted the State of the County Breakfast at Sparkman Civic Center.
Our guest speaker was Morgan County Commission Chairman Larry Bennich.
Mr. Bennich gave us a re-cap of the many projects both completed and under way in our county. The speech ended with an emotion filled surprise when he said, "It's been a good ride…at this time I will not be in this race." The breakfast attendance exceeded 120 people.
I then attended the City Council meeting that evening and announced our new Spring event. On April 24 we will host the "Wings of Thunder" Bike Rally and Poker Run. This is a motorcycle show and ride (a.k.a. Poker Run). We will have music, food and vendors and everyone is welcome. The event will begin and end at the airport. Look for more details on this soon.
I also announced the dates of the upcoming Washington Legislative trip and invited the Mayor and Council, as well as all other concerned citizens, to attend. The trip is scheduled for May 2-4.
It is so important to stay in front of our legislative representatives in Washington and to remain consistent in the desires and needs of Hartselle. If you are interested in going to Washington this May, please call the Chamber for more details.
On Thursday, March 11 we hosted the Chamber Annual Meeting, also at Sparkman Civic Center. Please read more about this event on Page A-7 of the Enquirer.
The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to an eventful, pro-active and aggressive 2004-05 and invites you to join in the activities.
If you are interested in any of the above, would like to volunteer, become involved and would like information on joining the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce, you may reach us at 773-4370 or via email at hartsell@hiwaay.net.
I encourage you to check out the website at www.hartsellechamber.com.
