Junior Varsity Lady Tigers improve to 24-2

Fall to Hoover in finals of own tournament
The Hartselle Lady Tiger JV softball team is off to 24-2 start to the 2004 season.
After winning five tourney games straight they fell in the finals of their own tournament to Hoover Lady Bucs 4-3.
Hartselle 7, Danville 3
Catie Keel, Teresa Staudt and Haley Miller had RBIs for Hartselle. Keel and Staudt collected two hits each. Both of Staudt's hits were doubles.
Amanda Drane picked up the win striking out eight and walking only one. Drane is now 7-1 on the season.
Hartselle 8, Huntsville 4
Whitley Collins, Haley Miller and Lindsay Robinson each posted two hits and scored two runs. Breanna Segars had two hits and two RBIs. Collins, Miller and Ashley Womack all had one double.
Mary Curtis won for the sixth time against no losses. Curtis struck out four and walked two.
Hartselle 5, Thompson 3
Amanda Drane, Anna Vaughn and Catie Keel all drove in one run. Drane also scored a run.
Breanna Segars improved to 8-0 on the mound. Segars allowed seven hits in five innings while striking out five and walking none.
Hartselle 11, Brewer 1
Whitley Collins, Lauren Drake, Haley Miller and Teresa Staudt collected two hits each and scored twice while driving in one run. Brittni Russell scored once and drove in two. Whitney Fulmer, Jordan Peek and Ashley Womack each collected one hit, one run and one RBI.
Amanda Drane improved to 8-1 by striking out six and allowing four hits in five innings.
Hartselle 6, Danville 0
The Lady Tigers moved into the finals with a shutout in the semi-finals. Mary Curtis ran her record to 7-0. Curtis struck out 10 and walked two while allowing three hits.
Kayla Orr was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. Haley Miller was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Teresa Staudt had a two-run single while Lauren Drake scored one run.
Hoover 4, Hartselle 3
Whitley Collins was 4-for-4 with two runs scored while collecting a double and a triple. Kayla Orr drove in two runs with a triple and Lindsay Robinson scored once and drove in one. Breanna Segars lost for the first time this year. Segars slipped to 9-1 on the season.
