Blue Devils win two, drop one

The Falkville Blue Devils went 2-1 on the diamond last week. Falkville whipped Clements in a Class 2A-Area 15 game before splitting a doubleheader at Brewer.
Falkville 8, Clements 1
After trailing 1-0, Falkville scored three runs in the third to grab the lead. The Blue Devils added five more runs in the sixth inning.
Brad Vest pitched a complete game allowing five hits and striking out six batters to pick up the win.
Jeff Grandstaff was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Ryan Summerford went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Todd Russell had one hit, one RBI and scored once. Jonathan Lacey, Zack Ferrell, Frankie Bannister and Vest each scored one run.
Falkville 7, Brewer 4
Kevin Russell pitched a complete game for the win. Russell struck out six and walked four while giving up five hits.
Ross Summerford and Jonathan Lacey were both 2-for-4 with one run scored. Ryan Summerford had a hit and a one run scored while Jeff Grandstaff drove in two and scored twice on one hit and a walk. Bobby Holliday had the other Falkville RBI.
Brewer 6, Falkville 0
Wesley Cooper threw seven shutout innings to pick up the win.
Jameson Pugh smashed two-solo home runs to lead the Patriots at the plate. Brewer scored four runs in the sixth on only one hit. Brad Vest took the loss for Falkville and is now 2-3. Vest struck out nine and walked one while allowing five hits and three earned runs.
